My Process
My Process - The Pillars FORMula
Every client I work with has a unique financial situation, unique goals, and a unique definition of what financial success looks like. No two plans are alike. But the process that builds every plan is always the same — structured, proven, and designed to grow with you as your life evolves.
I call it The Pillars FORMula.
Why Process Matters
Most people don't struggle financially because they lack intelligence or discipline. They struggle because the pieces of their financial life have never been brought together into a single, coherent picture — with someone whose only agenda is making sure those pieces work together in their best interest.
A retirement account here. An insurance policy there. A tax strategy that doesn't talk to the investment strategy. An estate plan that hasn't been reviewed in a decade. Each piece may be fine on its own. But a collection of financial products is not a financial plan.
The Pillars FORMula is built around a different idea: that every dimension of your financial life — wealth, risk, taxes, debt, estate, legacy, and retirement — should be integrated into a single, living strategy. One that is coordinated, monitored, and continuously adjusted as your life unfolds.
And because I operate under the fiduciary standard, every element of that process is guided by one question: What is in your best interest?
What the Process Covers
The Pillars FORMula integrates all of the following into a unified plan:
- Wealth Management - Building and growing what you've worked hard to accumulate, with an investment strategy aligned to your goals, your timeline, and your risk tolerance.
- Risk Management - Identifying and helping protect against the risks that could derail your plan — from market volatility to unexpected life events — before they become problems.
- Tax Planning - Coordinating your investment, retirement, and income strategies to minimize your tax burden across your working years and into retirement.
- Estate Planning - Helping ensure that what you've built passes to the people and causes you care about, in the way you intend — with the right documents, structures, and professionals in place.
- Cash & Debt Management - Optimizing your cash flow and addressing debt strategically so that every dollar is working as efficiently as possible toward your goals.
- Philanthropy & Legacy Planning - For clients who want their financial plan to reflect their values — structuring giving strategies and legacy goals that extend your impact beyond your lifetime.
- Retirement & Financial Planning - Building a sustainable income strategy for the retirement you've envisioned — one that accounts for longevity, healthcare, inflation, and the life you actually want to live.
The Three D's
Every client relationship moves through three phases. Together, they form the foundation of The Pillars FORMula.
DISCOVERY Understanding what matters most to you
Before any plan is built, I need to understand you - not just your balance sheet, but your goals, your priorities, your concerns, and your definition of financial success. Discovery is where we establish what you want to accomplish and what matters most in getting there. No assumptions. No templates. Just a genuine conversation about your life and your future.
- What do you want to accomplish?
- What matters most to you?
- What keeps you up at night?
- What does financial independence look like for you, specifically?
DESIGN Building the strategies that get you there
Once I understand your goals, we design a plan — fully integrated across every pillar of your financial life — that charts the path forward. Every recommendation in the Design phase is evaluated against the fiduciary standard: is this the right choice for this client, in this situation, at this stage of their life? Nothing more, nothing less.
- Which services and strategies fit your specific situation?
- How do we structure your plan across wealth, risk, taxes, and legacy?
- What does the roadmap look like, and what are the milestones?
DEPLOYMENT Executing, monitoring, and adapting over time
A plan on paper is only as good as its execution — and its ability to adapt. Deployment is where the plan comes to life, and where my ongoing commitment to you begins in earnest. I monitor your investments, track your progress, coordinate with your other professionals, and adjust your strategy as your life changes. This phase never really ends — because a good financial plan isn't a document you file away. It's a living relationship.
- Financial and legacy planning put into action
- Product and risk assessment on an ongoing basis
- Regular reviews - at a minimum annually, more often when your life calls for it
- Continuous service and a relationship built to last
A Plan You'll Never Outgrow
One of the most important things I can tell you about The Pillars FORMula is this: it is designed to grow with you.
Life changes. Careers end and second chapters begin. Children grow up and parents age. Businesses are built and sometimes sold. Inheritances arrive unexpectedly. Retirements come sooner — or later — than planned. The Pillars FORMula doesn't become obsolete when your life changes. It adapts. The process remains constant. The plan evolves.
You will never outgrow it. You will grow into it — as your life unfolds and your needs evolve.
